DexAfrica can provide almost any type of web map that is needed to meet your needs. From simple Google Earth-type maps to complex map or data applications, DexAfrica applies the most effective tools to create useful and engaging web products.
Our mapping technologies are primarily based on open source software.
On the server we use PostGIS, a robust and scalable relational database. This combines the best features of geospatial filtering and querying capabilities, with a relational database so geospatial features can be linked to comments, user permissions, media and hyperlinks, and so on.
In the browser, our core competencies include OpenLayers and Leaflet, jQuery, and AJAX and GeoJSON techniques. These allow us to create highly dynamic and complex user interfaces, in which attractive and engaging maps are a key component.
We also embrace the modern web mapping ecosystem, leveraging web service technologies such as CartoDB and Mapbox to provide interactive data services.
Finally, we can work with ArcGIS services and Esri ArcGIS Online applications.
